53 year old British man Akmal Shaikh was executed in China for smuggling drugs into the country in July 2008.
He was found with 4 kilos of heroin and although he protested his innocence and friends and family claimed Akmal was mentally ill and suffering from bi-polar disorder he was put to death by lethal injection and buried in an unmarked grave near the prison in the far western Chinese region of Xinjiang.
