13 December 2005 – Stanley Tookie Williams III

Stanley Tookie Williams
By the time of his death, the ex-member and co-founder of the ultra-violent Crips gang, had reinvented himself as an anti-gang advocate. Such was his reformation that many high-profile celebrities protested against his sentence saying that he could be a valuable asset in the fight against gangland activity.
But his 1979 crimes of robbery plus the murder of four people were not the best credentials. And although he maintained that he was innocent of the murders, these crimes ensured that the 51-year-old was sent to his death in California.
