10 December 1928 – Trevor Edwards

Trevor Edwards was just 20 when he hanged for slitting his girlfriend’s throat.

One Sunday morning in June, Edwards was seen bleeding heavily from the neck and was reported to the police. When confronted the Welshman confessed to the police that he’d stabbed Elsie Cook.

On the day of the hanging there was a new assistant at the Swansea jail, and sadly he wasn’t clear of the trap door when the executioner pulled the lever, so the assistant hangman followed Edwards into the pit.

I want to write a biography on this guy and wondered if anyone had done this before or even written a novel on these events that led to Trevor being hung for murder.
