John R Hicks

John R Hicks earned the death sentence in Ohio for child murder in 1985.

First he strangled then garrotted his mother-in-law, Maxine Armstrong. Then, worried that his five-year-old step-daughter, Brandy Green would place him at the scene of the crime, Hicks smothered her with a pillow, which failed, so he tried strangling her with his bare hands. Hicks finished the job by putting duct tape over his child’s nose and mouth.

High on coke and not content he then tried to dismember Armstrong, before sexually molesting his daughter’s dead corpse. All this for a lousy $300 and a couple of credit cards. Not that the money got him far. Hicks was found guilty of murder and he got a dose of lethal injection in 2005, aged 49.
