19 November 1903 – Tom Horn

Tom Horn was hanged in Wyoming for a murder he probably did not commit.

The hired gun was a day shy of his 43rd birthday when he was strung up for allegedly killing Willie Nickell, the 14-year-old son of a sheep farmer.

Of course he had plenty of killings to his name in his roles as detective, lawman, and hired killer. But some say that this murder was not his kill. His infamy was immortalised by Steve McQueen in the western
named after him.
