18 March 1902 – Richard Wigley

A man was hanged today in 1902 for killing his girlfriend.

Richard Wigley was executed in Shrewsbury after he was found guilty of murder. He’d killed Mary Ellen Bowen and was sent to the gallows, aged 34.
