Patrick MoodyA pawn in the machinations of his girlfriend’s lust for money, Patrick Lane Moody was sentenced to death for murder today in 2006.

He had been found guilty of killing his girlfriend Wanda Robbins’ husband, so she could pocket the $5,000 life insurance payout.

Of course, you’re probably wondering why he didn’t just say no. Well, he was a few slices short of a loaf; indeed that was used in an appeal but to no avail.

Moody was put to death by lethal injection in North Carolina aged 39.
