12 February 2003 – Richard Edwin Fox

Richard Edwin FoxRichard Edwin Fox stabbed an 18-year-old girl in the back six times, after she refused the American’s slimy sexual advances. And for that he was executed on this day in 2003.

Ohio-based Fox had tried it on after he’d enticed Leslie Keckler with an offer of a sales job.

He whisked his victim off in his car so he could supposedly show her the route, but Fox had another agenda.

She managed to fight back and tried to jump out of the car, but Fox, just dragged her back in and stabbed her multiple times.

Cold blood

He then went to a remote area, strangled her with a rope to make sure she was dead, and then dumped her body. Of course, the blood in his car and the incriminating murder weapon gave him away, and he was found guilty and sentenced to die by lethal injection.

According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, maybe he shouldn’t have been executed. The paper said of Fox’s lawyers ‘They also said he should have been re-sentenced because guidelines used in his case later were declared flawed by the Ohio Supreme Court.’

Plea

Even his daughter wrote a plea for her father’s life saying that she would be orphaned after her mother had committed suicide. But a stay of execution was refused and he was put down by lethal injection 14 years after the crime, aged 47.
