13 December 2005 – John B. Nixon

John B. Nixon
Hired by jealous ex-husband Elster Joseph Ponthieux, Nixon was tasked with killing Tucker and her new husband of six months, Thomas.
Cold blood
Alongside his two accomplices, one of whom was his son, Nixon burst into their home and drew a .22-calliber pistol. Tucker pleaded with them to leave the couple alone, even offering them money, but they refused. Nixon then shot Tucker twice, then shot Virginia in the head at point-blank range, while one of the other assailants held her down.
Miraculously Thomas Tucker survived to see him put away for the crime. Nixon became the oldest man to be executed. He was killed by lethal injection in Mississippi aged 77.
